We used Suvey Monkey this past fall to design a music survey for our instructional assistants. We wanted to gauge people's familiarity with basic computer literacy skills. The free version of the survey provides for a total of ten survey questions per survey. (expanded capabilities has a monthly fee) We asked questions about favorite type of music, time period and artist.

The anaylyze data feature provides charts of the total responses. I also liked that you can send surveys via embedded link, as well as in the body of an e-mail.

In a co-teaching environment, Survey Monkey is a possible tool to gather student data such as an interest inventory or even a learning style profile. It also provides a decent digital platform for students to present results of surveys they create and design. Click on the

Music in Blog Post

There is a pretty simple way to embed music posts or podcasts to your Blogger site. This might work well with students who want or need to create podcasts for a class that wants web access to listen to them.

Whose Desk Quiz with QuizCreator!

Students in our computer applications class just completed a schoolwide quiz which matched items of interest in a teacher or staff member's room with their name - sort of a teacher scavenger hunt. We gave the quiz online using QuizCreator software and we constructed hard copy quizzes students could fill out.

QuizCreator uses Flash technology to make online quiz and test design quite an easy undertaking. Questions can be constructed in many forms: true and false, matching, short answer, even mapping. I really like the immediate response after a quiz taker submits their answer. Results are sent to the quiz taker's e-mail address and to the quiz designer.
